Cristiano Ronaldo Heads Manchester City ?

Cristiano Ronaldo Heads Manchester City - Manchester City's owners are planning bid for Cristiano Ronaldo for £135m in the January transfer window before turning their sights to, among others, Fernando Torres and Cesc Fábregas.

"Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious," said Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, of the Abu Dhabi United Group.

We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United."

Al-Fahim also confirmed that Torres and Fábregas were among his targets as City look to bring in a "minimum 18" players.

Concerned by the paucity of tearful, preening, pouting, Portuguese goal-getters strutting around Eastlands, Manchester City will attempt to "smash the world transfer record" by bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to England, according to an "exclusive" running in today's Mirror. Despite being the hot tip to replace Edwin van der Sar at Old Trafford when the imposing Dutch goalkeeper retires this summer, imposing Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has told reporters that he has thus far received no offer from Manchester United, but has had a "fantastic" one from his current club Ajax. Manchester United have also been sniffing around the sought-after Trotter. Meanwhile at the San Siro, Milan are prepared to offer Tottenham former Arsenal favourite Mathieu Flamini and a big bag of money in exchange for White Hart Lane dressing room japester and midfield enforcer Sandro. In even more underwhelming transfer news, Fulham are prepared to end Paul Konchesky's Liverpool pain, possibly because his replacement at Fulham, Carlos Salcido wishes to go home to play for the "Rayados": reigning Mexican and South American Champions League title holders Monterrey.

City officials have now confirmed that Ronaldo is not a transfer target this summer, claiming the speculation is pure 'mischief-making'.

"Speculation linking the club with Ronaldo is ill-informed and unfounded and nothing other than mischief-making," senior officials told Sky Sports.

Mancini has ridiculed the rumours. Asked if he would be signing Ronaldo, Mancini replied: "Yes. We sign Cristiano Ronaldo for £200 million!"

"Ronaldo, Messi, Fabregas and Iniesta if possible! After, we can speak about Carlos."

Asked if Sunday's game with Bolton will be Tevez's last for the club, Mancini replied: "I don't think so."
